Maxthon Cloud Browser is among the benchmarking test browsers that measure their compatibility with web technologies, if you look at the HTML5 test, it turns out, with great surprise, that is the best browser Maxthon 4.
Although each test has different results (see the best test to measure the speed and performance of the browser), Maxthon gets really high scores, higher even than Chrome and Firefox.
On my Lenovo laptop, it's fine but on my HP desktop it's a nightmare. Google drive seems to be the problem on the desktop, I also installed Picasa and Microsoft Office Suite 2013 on the desktop recently (the laptop doesn't have those). I use Windows 7 on both. On the desktop, my task manager shows spikes in activity for the video function along with a large amount of activity from the Google drive. No third party extensions are installed on Chrome, so it seems to be the combo (of Drive, Picasa and the new Office suite) that doesn't work. Chrome will have to be removed from the desktop.
It's a much faster loading browser then Firefox and I'm a die-heart Firefox user. Still I had issues with Flash Player and Firefox, I had to install Google Chrome to be able to play games on Facebook and have been happy ever since.
I have not noticed it is faster than Internet Explorer. I have always deleted certain items from various program files. IE easily performs this whereas Chrome makes it next to impossible. Thank goodness I kept my Internet Explorer as a secondary option.
Basically, I'm deleting Chrome because I don't trust it. I just hope I can really get rid of it when I delete it.
